“This sixth edition of the festival will offer attendees its trademark experience: live music on the pier against the stunning backdrop of Lake George and the Adirondack Mountains.”
The Lake George Steamboat Company announced this past week that the Rock the Dock Music Festival will be held on Saturday, July 12th this year, boasting a lineup that includes impressive headlining acts as well as some excellent local flavor. Rock the Dock has been held on the pier each of the past three summers after a two-year pause during the height of the COVID pandemic; previously, it had been run at the same site in 2018 and 2019.
This sixth edition of the festival will offer attendees its trademark experience: live music on the pier against the stunning backdrop of Lake George and the Adirondack Mountains. Fans can enjoy a variety of local artists, craft vendors, food trucks, and drink sales, as well as a merchandise tent offering posters, t-shirts, and other festival merch. Attendees will have the opportunity to watch from the pier itself or on board one of the three historic steamboats docked surrounding the stage; an experience that creates a unique ambience that won’t be found anywhere else this summer.
This year’s show will feature six performances throughout the day across two stages, with a highly-anticipated set from eclectic improv-rock veterans Umphrey’s McGee leading the way. The show is later bolstered by Pink Talking Fish, a hybrid tribute fusion act that blends the music of Pink Floyd, Talking Heads, and Phish to create a truly unique and dynamic experience. They’ll be supported by some true local heavy hitters, including Chestnut Grove all the way from the city of brotherly love. Though hailing from Philly these days, the funk-rock fusion dynamo has cultivated a dedicated local fan base through their performances at past editions of Rock the Dock and GEM Fest in Glens Falls. They’re certain to bring the groove alongside their good friends and local heavyweights Wild Adriatic, hailing from Saratoga Springs to bring their own dynamic blend of blues, funk, and rock vibes. Bolton’s own The Switch will bring some of their excellent jam rock to the party with one of the Capital Region’s premier Grateful Dead tribute bands, Neon Avenue, rounding out the lineup at the pier. Glens Falls jam legends Capital Zen will round out the event providing a late-night set at The Lagoon that will surely keep everyone grooving deep into the midsummer night along the coast of the Queen of American Lakes.
