PREVIEW: lights at the lake comes to lake george this season

“This exciting addition not only enhances the beauty of the season but also complements our annual Lite Up the Village lighting ceremony, creating a magical experience for residents and visitors alike.”

The Village of Lake George is launching a brand new holiday tradition and everyone is invited. Lights at the Lake will kick off on November 30 and operate every Thursday through Sunday until March 1st. The lights will flip on at 4 pm and remain on until 9 pm.

While this brilliant collection of festive light displays is meant to be enjoyed as a walking tour, some of the displays can easily be seen from passing vehicles.

This year, when Mayor Perry flips on the lights in the village, it will also coincide with the kick off to Lights at the Lake.

“We’re thrilled to introduce Lights at the Lake, a dazzling new display that will illuminate the Village of Lake George in a whole new way,” said Gina Mintzer, Executive Director of Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce & CVB. “This exciting addition not only enhances the beauty of the season but also complements our annual Lite Up the Village lighting ceremony, creating a magical experience for residents and visitors alike. We invite everyone to come and enjoy this festive celebration of community and holiday spirit.”

Funded through the Warren County occupancy tax, they have provided $150,000 to lease the light displays from the Albany Police Athletic League.

“Warren County is pleased to partner with the Town and Village of Lake George to bring this wonderful winter event to Lake George,” said Chairman of the Warren County Board of Supervisors, Kevin Geraghty. “It will be a fun outing for local families and visitors to our community, and we thank our community leaders and the folks from Albany Police Athletic League for working hard to bring this project together in a short period of time.”

As an added bonus of holiday cheer, Lights at the Lake will also be operating on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of Christmas week and New Year’s week, and every day during Presidents’ week in February.
