PREVIEW: Critically Acclaimed ‘The Lehman Trilogy’ Comes to Capital Repertory Theatre

03/07 - 04/06 @ theREP, Albany

A masterclass in drama, exploring themes of ambition, greed, and legacy.

The Lehman Trilogy is taking over Capital Repertory Theatre (theREP) from March 7 to April 6. Directed by Maggie Mancinelli-Cahill, this captivating, award-winning drama follows the journey of the Lehman Brothers. It spans their humble beginnings to their massive success on Wall Street, and ultimately displays their catastrophic fall from grace that sent shockwaves through the global economy.

To enhance the audience experience (because trust us, this show demands your full attention), theREP has tweaked its schedule for earlier starts: evening performances will now start at 7 p.m., Saturday matinees at 3 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. Plus, they’ve added extra matinees in the final week, including a special Wednesday matinee on April 2 at 2:00 pm. No two-show days, just a well-paced, immersive theatrical experience.

With nearly two centuries of family history packed into one theatrical production, The Lehman Trilogy, through powerful storytelling, eye-catching visuals, and three phenomenal actors taking on multiple roles, becomes much more than a history lesson. It’s a masterclass in drama, exploring themes of ambition, greed, and legacy.

While only comprised of three actors, the cast features some serious talent: Kevin McGuire (Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera), Oliver Wadsworth (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, A Sherlock Carol), and William Oliver Watkins (Hamlet, The Blacklist) will bring the Lehman brothers to life. With Broadway, Off-Broadway, and major regional credits under their belts, these performers are set to deliver a must-see theatrical experience.

And let’s not forget the creatives behind the magic, scenic designer Brian Prather, lighting designer Rob Denton, costume designer Andrea Adamczyk, sound designer Steve Stevens, and projection designer Camilla Tassi (with Julian Kelley as associate projection designer) are bringing this world to life.

Previews run March 7-9, with opening night on March 11. Regular performances are March 12-April 6, with tickets ranging from $30.50 to $75.50. Grab yours at theREP’s website (attherep.org) or call the Proctors Box Office at (518) 346-6204.
