12/14/24 on Lark Street, Albany
Lark Street was flooded with ugly sweaters, holiday pajama sets, and a full spectrum of people in their underwear this past Saturday, December 14th as part of the Albany Society for the Advancement of Philanthropy’s annual Santa Speedo Sprint. The 800-meter run-as-you-are was in its 19th year, and it seeks to raise funds and awareness for the Albany Damien Center, and the HIV/AIDs program at Albany Medical Center.
As stated on their website, the Damien Center “is a resource center designed to improve health, reduce stress and increase the quality of life in a supportive atmosphere for individuals and families living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.” Their programs and services are provided free of charge.
