Hundreds of Albanians congregated on the green surrounding Russell Sage’s Opalka Gallery for the first of three pop-up beer gardens on Friday, September 6th.

Families, friends, and single-filers enjoyed the mildly warm evening lounging on the lawn, playing with hula hoops, tossing bean bags for corn hole and making their own screen prints. There was a lot to enjoy! Visitors were treated to music by local artists Caity Gallagher and Super 400. Craft beverages from Druthers Brewing and Frog Alley Brewing, alt beverages sponsored by Honest Weight Food Coop, and delicious eats by Dotty Lou’s BBQ and Grammy’s Tamales were all available for purchase. The Opalka Gallery, in collaboration with Collar Works and Artist/Mother Podcast, was open for visitors to view the newly-installed exhibition Painting at Night, which is on display until October 12th.

The pop-up beer garden will be back at the Opalka Gallery on September 13th, featuring live performances by Home Body and Adam Tinkle & His Long Awaited Wrinkle, beverages from Nine Pin and Rare Form, and food prepared by La Capital Taco and Mi Casa.
